This is a simple guide to help students check the status of their loan applications on the NELFUND Portal—from submission to when the money is sent to their school.
01. Log in to the NELFUND Portal
Go to https://portal.nelf.gov.ng. Enter your email and password to sign in. You need to be registered to use the portal.
02. Navigate to the Loans Section
After logging in, find the menu tab and click on “Loans”. This will show the loan(s) you have applied for.
03. Check Your Loan Status
On your dashboard, you will see a list of your loan applications and their current status. If the status says “Disbursed”, it means the funds have already been sent to your school. To get more information about a loan, click “View” next to it.
04. Download Proof of Disbursement
When you open the details, you’ll see full information about the disbursement. Click on the “Download” button marked as number 4 to get a copy of the disbursement confirmation. You can show this document to your institution as proof that payment has been made.
